What advice would you give to someone who wants to pursue a career as a human rights lawyer and make that dream a reality, particularly when it can feel like everyone else is pursuing commercial law? How can I go about finding meaningful opportunities and gaining experience in the areas of law I am genuinely interested in, rather than feeling pressured to pursue commercial legal experience simply for the sake of it?
Thank you so much for this question - you are exactly the type of person that the Inclusie Club was set up to help! Human rights is not my area of law, so I asked my network to chip in with their thoughts too. I hope this response is helpful.
